I woke up this morning with this thought - spoken from one (from the anonymous pool of unknown entities that are always present in my dream) -"Your thoughts will determine what you have and what you do with your life".

Not a particularly profound statement - I have it plastered on my profile page, and it is interwoven through various blogs I've posted in the past.  It is the theme of almost half of my reading library, I have downloaded an excellent e-book, The Master Key, and  I've watched the movie,  What is the Secret........twice!

So, no...it was not so much the words, but the blaring intensity in which they were spoken... enough to jar me awake, I tell ya!  Now I'm just lying there...this sentence playing over and over in my mind.  Next, I'm thinking, 'Well yes - I know this already!'  I'm taking this as a sign that I really, really need to return to that mind set.  Lip service is longer enough...I have to begin right here, right now, putting that concept into action.   I know how important my thoughts are, and lately I've not given positive thoughts the proper attention they deserve...after all, it is my thoughts and ONLY my thoughts that determine the quality of my life.

I'm also trying to pay more attention to my dreams.   Dreams fascinate me.   I don't fully understand them...I want to know their purpose.  Why do we have dreams when we sleep?  What can I do to remember them?   I've received advice to have a pen and paper handy and write down my dream as soon as I wake up.  Tried that...can't do it.  When I first awaken, it takes the better part of an hour for me to decide if I'm dead or alive!  By the time I've determined that I will NOT be writing my obituary, I'm no longer in the frame of mind to write anything, much less, anything about any dream.

Then...I'm off thinking in terms of dream interpretation.  I've read a couple of books, visited a few websites...each time I either find some generic table of 'the' interpretation of a certain dream symbol...or my favorite,'...only you can determine the meaning of a particular dream or dream symbol.'   So why are they writing this advice?  And to whom?  Aghh!!!

In any event...I do feel a bit more at ease with my latest dream event now that I have articulated it here.  Maybe now I can focus on the deeper issues of this my other dreams and not so much on the why or walking around thinking, 'huh?'

For now, I will settle with following interpretation of all my dreams:  Dreams vs. Dreaming....now is the time to learn the difference.
